Paknam Manufacturing Company, formerly known as “Snow,” was established in the spring of 1962 by a group of experienced detergent industry professionals in a 4,800-square-meter area in the Saadat Abad district of Tehran. It became one of the first factories in the Middle East to produce laundry powder. One year later, the company introduced its first product, a laundry powder called “Toofan.”
Within ten years of its founding, Snow Company, through qualitative and quantitative improvements in its machinery and workforce, managed to increase its annual laundry powder production capacity by nine times, reaching 5,000 tons per year in 1972.
After the Islamic Revolution, during the challenging years of 1980 to 1988, despite all shortages and pressures resulting from sanctions, the engineers and staff of the company were able to exceed the factory’s nominal capacity, producing over 14,000 tons of laundry powder annually.
Following the Islamic Revolution, the company’s name was changed from Snow to Paknam. As the Reconstruction Era began and with the increasing national demand for detergent products, the company aimed to contribute to improving public health and hygiene. In collaboration with experienced European engineers and utilizing the most advanced technology in the global laundry powder industry, Paknam established a new factory with a nominal annual capacity of over 120,000 tons. This factory was built on a 22-hectare site in Buin Zahra, near Qazvin.
The construction project and installation of production machinery, mainly sourced from Europe, took nearly five years. Finally, in the spring of 1995, thirty-three years after the company’s inception, one of the most modern detergent and hygiene product manufacturing plants in the country commenced operations.
The new industrial complex, in addition to having standard production facilities and ample space for the addition of new production lines, also boasts large warehouses for the proper and standard storage of raw materials and final products. Furthermore, it is equipped with modern laboratory facilities and an experienced technical team for continuous quality control of raw materials and final products. These features place the company among the most reputable detergent manufacturers in the country.
Currently, over 350 skilled and experienced professionals are employed across the company’s various departments. In addition to being offered in domestic markets under the brands Top, Yekta, Dey, Aren, and Bamdad, a significant portion of the company’s products have been exported to various countries for years. The brands Rames, Yekta, and Dey are familiar names to many families in numerous regional markets.
